Tullamore Dew Original Irish Whiskey is one of the world’s most recognised Blended Irish Whiskeys and a flagship expression of the Tullamore D.E.W. brand.
The D.E.W. in the name stands for Daniel E. Williams, a key figure in the development of the brand in the 19th century. The Tullamore Distillery, founded in 1829 in Tullamore, County Offaly, Ireland, laid the foundation for this reputable whiskey, which today ranks among the best‑selling Irish whiskeys globally.
Bottled at 40 %, this whiskey is crafted from a blend of three types of Irish whiskey (grain, malt and pot still), triple distilled for smoothness and matured in a combination of ex‑bourbon and ex‑sherry casks, giving depth and character to the flavour profile.
Colour: bright golden amber.
Nose: spicy and citrus notes with malty hints, wood and caramel undertones.
Palate: soft, rounded and balanced, with fruity and cereal sweetness, honey and vanilla nuances, finishing smooth and medium‑long with touches of vanilla and toasted oak.
Age/Maturation: Though this expression carries no age statement (NAS) on the label, Irish regulation requires a minimum of 3 years’ maturation in oak casks, which is applied in production.
Serving temperature: ideally 18–22 °C to fully reveal the aroma and flavour.
Enjoy neat, on the rocks, with a splash of water, or as the base for classic cocktails (Irish Coffee, Tullamore & Tonic).
Food pairing: fruits, apple pie, caramel or vanilla desserts, and mild cheeses.
