Balvenie DoubleWood 12 Years Old Single Malt Whisky is a single malt Scotch whisky from the Speyside region, aged for 12 years in two types of oak casks, making it one of the most famous Balvenie expressions in its class.

This whisky undergoes a two-stage aging: first in American oak ex-bourbon barrels, where it acquires soft vanilla and honey tones, and then in European oak barrels after Oloroso sherry, which add complexity, spicy nuances and fruity richness.

In the glass, the drink has a warm golden-amber color. The aroma is harmonious and multidimensional, with a dominance of sweet fruits, notes of sherry, honey and vanilla, complemented by delicate woody spice.

The taste is balanced, soft and rounded: at the beginning there are subtle dried fruits and caramel, intertwined with nutty and spicy nuances, as well as light accents of cinnamon and oak. The finish is warm and long, with preserved sweetness and a light woody bitterness that leaves a pleasant aftertaste.

This whisky is great for a leisurely tasting in its pure form, with a little ice or a drop of water, which helps to reveal all the layers of aromas.
