San Marzano F Negroamaro Salento IGP is an Italian red semi-dry wine from the IGP Salento, a controlled geographical area in the south of Puglia, made from 100% Negroamaro grapes, one of the most important red varieties in Southern Italy. This “F” style (from Feudi di San Marzano) emphasizes the classic character of the local terroir and the traditional winemaking of the region.
In the glass, the wine has a deep porcelain-red color, which indicates the richness and density of the drink. The aroma is broad and complex, with distinct notes of spices, ripe berries, dark fruits and cherry jam, which creates a pleasantly rich bouquet.
The taste is full-bodied, soft and balanced, with harmonious acidity and elegant tannins that support the fruit tones and give the drink structure and a long aftertaste. The wine is aged for ≈12 months in French and Caucasian oak barrels, which adds complexity and delicate woody nuances.
San Marzano F Negroamaro pairs well with first courses with tomato sauces, red meat, stewed game, grilled dishes and aged cheeses, where its rich fruit profile and soft tannins are revealed best. Recommended serving temperature is ~16–18 °C.
